Manipulator

Manipulator

When you started learning improv, you were a bit of a wallflower. Other people started scenes with a ton of energy or these great characters, but what did you bring to the table? Then you started to see when scenes were missing something important. Locations, names, you paid close attention to the platform and the fundamentals. You asked a lot of questions when the teacher explained exercises. When your teacher started having you edit your own scenes, you were put off by the vagueness of when to do it at first, but then you got it. You had an itch when it needed to happen. Then, when you learned about β€œgame,” it felt like suddenly you could see the Matrix, or like someone had put to words a truth which you had known all along.

Manipulators don’t naturally produce a lot of Yen, but they have an uncanny ability to manipulate the Yen of others, dragging it around, shaping it, inducing in it a current that can carry a show.
