Enhancer

Enhancer

If you’re an enhancer, congratulations. This world is made for you.

Enhancers play BIG. They make big characters, big choices, and talk in big voices. They innately produce a ton of Yen aura, enough to spare. Improv audiences are often of the mind that improv is very hard, and they could never do it, so anyone who does must be brave. Enhancers take the stage with brazen confidence, and so the audience find them immediately impressive. Enhancers are the “pirates” from “Pirate, Robot, Ninja”. They play from the gut.

Of all the specializations, Enhancers must be the most careful not to get stuck in their development. Long have we heard the advice that talking makes it hard to listen, and observed that some people in improv are “steamrollers”. Now, through Yen, we can finally explain why. Ten is the ability to prevent Yen from slipping away. Enhancers produce so much Yen so easily, it can be hard for them to notice that they’re losing any. So, they get away with having weak Ten, the most basic technique. And remember, the core of Ten is listening. Enhancers are, more than any other specialization, in danger of forgetting to listen. If you are an Enhancer, work extra hard to maintain Ten. It will make you unstoppable. If you fail to master Ten, you will be as painful to play with as you are appealing to casting directors.

All-enhancer teams are popular because they fill the room with so much Yen, the audience is almost guaranteed to have a great time.
